What is our mission? 

1.  To share with genealogists across the country the information that we already have gathered on our pioneer families of Northwest Iowa.

2. To help us, in Northwest Iowa, find long-lost relatives across the country and to add information to our own family trees.

3. To honor the memory of those hardy pioneers who settled this good land in Northwest Iowa.   

Who may submit pioneer surnames? 

1. Members of the Computer Genies of NW Iowa may submit surnames at no cost.

2. Non-members may also submit surnames for an annual fee of $5.00.

Which pioneer surnames may be submitted?

There are two qualifications.

1. The pioneers must have lived part of their lives in the Northwest Iowa

2. The pioneers must have been born at least 100 years ago. 

How can I submit information? 

1. If you can use an MS Excel spreadsheet, simply copy the column headings and send your information to the webmaster.

2. If you do not have Excel, send your information to dkmohn @ midlands.net (remove the spaces before & after the @ sign) and it will be put in an Excel spreadsheet and forwarded to the webmaster.

3. If you are a non-member, send your annual check to the Genies’ address on the home page.

I am a submitter. How do I share my research with guests to the website?

Your pioneer surnames will be linked to your email address.  When you receive a query, you can answer the query as you wish. The club suggests that at least half of each donation you receive goes to the Computer Genies.   

I am a visitor to your website and would like information on a certain pioneer family. What do I do?

Click on the pioneer surname.  A new email will pop up and you may contact the person who submitted the pioneer surname for information.  The submitter may ask you for a donation appropriate for the amount of information they have to share.  This donation helps the Computer Genies to expand their efforts in providing genealogical information to the public.
