Town Genealogy Directory

Computer Genies is working (with permission) from two previously published genealogy directories.

Wilma Vande Berg and others did one for the northern part of our 12-county area years ago.   The Woodbury County group did one for the southern part of our area.

There is a little bit that was never done over by Buena Vista, etc.   Both of these two previous directories did not include websites because they were done too early.

The purpose is to help people to know where they should go to find information and what resources are there....especially if they are new to genealogy.   For example, what resources are available in the Le Mars Library or at the Ply Co Museum?  Is there a microfilm reader and printer?  At the Remsen library there is a reader, but no printer.

If you are reading this and live out of state but are planning a trip to Iowa, hopefully you will find the information found on the town pages helpful. Click on the county of your choice (at left) which will take you to the town links.

Bear with us while the information is obtained and organized for posting on this website. ~The Computer Genies
